Would you like to get out of your daily grind and reconnect with those crazy in love kids you used to be? You don’t need to go far to escape and bring your sexy back.
Do you ever wish that you could date your spouse again? That you could take the older, wiser, weathered version of yourself and go back to the beginnings & butterflies? Remembera time when things bounced instead of bulged? You felt rugged instead of rough-looking. The world was your oyster. You were bright-eyed, quick witted, required little sleep, and were driven by new experiences. Close your eyes… can you imagine that exciting, energetic creature? Can you picture that daring, debonair gentlemen on your doorstep?
When my husband and I were courting, we were vivacious. We were bold. We sought adventure and finding ourselves in a compromising situation was part of the thrill. We fell in love with the best sides of each other while slowly introducing the less desirable ones. We were prime for anything. Fast forward to ourpresent day, a rear view mirror full of children, demanding occupations, and a plate loaded with responsibility. This doesn’t exactly scream “sexy and single, ready to mingle”. These days we have evolved into Courtney Love in the carpool lane and digital daddy in Dockers. Our life cycle involves, waking up to little people with big demands, devices with full inboxes, days packed with meetings and madness, and falling asleep in sensible pajamas with the news. Don’t get me wrong, we have been busy building a beautiful life together. A life full of domestic adventure where bungee jumping has become less of a priority. Life is fast, full, rich and not without its fair share of white knuckles. But as we have added layers, it has made us lose track of the two unencumbered kids we used to beand turned us into real grown ups. With our love running as deep as the laundry, it can be difficult to find what we need from each other and remember who we were. Yet, what if we could create pockets of time where we could revisit these dusty, dynamic parts of ourselves and discover new passions? To find a place where we could skinny dip in the fountain of youth.
People, paradise has been found.
A mere 25 minutes from my doorstep such a destination exists. Close enough to home but far enough that we can’t hear the cries of responsibility. In this place, we can be anyone and anything. It’s a place that awakens the senses and makes you feel alive. Too good to be true you say? I think not, for we have been there and can attest to the magic of this little town. May I introduce you to Park City. If you can steal away, run for these hills. Why not rekindle your romance while celebrating the union of Park City Mountain Resort & the Canyons Resort? By linking two of the greatest ski areas in North America, you will be able to exert your pent up need for adrenaline and Gortex on 7,300 acres of terrain. While exploring the slopes, make a reservation at The Lookout Cabin (located on the Canyons side of the resort). Affectionately referred to as “food with a view”, this is one of the best spots to catch your breath, rest your ski legs and enjoy an exceptional sit down meal. If turkey chili trumps terrain, you can practice your figure eights at Deer Valley Resort. With luxury accommodations and first class amenities (think ski valets), you will feel pampered on the slopes. Whether you are a ski bunny or a powder hound once you fall in love with these resorts, it won’t be your last date.

Summer Outdoor Enthusiast
If you don’t have a tear away business suit, Park City is the second quickest way to get out the rat race and into the great outdoors. Not in the mood for snow, locals think summer here is even better than winter. Go on foot or go by bike, explore the scenery anyway you’d like. Cycle on the Armstrong trail powered by your love of nature and need to be king and queen of the mountain. Hiking on this trail is also a great option as it provides convenient access to Park City’s extensive trail system.
