Special Place, Beautiful Surroundings, Great GOLF!

We stay in the "cottages" - we've been to the Homestead at least 6 times, it is a pleasant place in beautiful surroundings. I'd say that the regular hotel rooms may be rather quaint, or perhaps a little dated but that is totally OK since this place has been around for SO LONG! It has a great history. (yes the bathrooms are small, but perfectly adequate) The Garden rooms and Cottages are not dated. Each cottage has its own porch. The place is beautiful, charming. The GOLF COURSE (called Crater Springs) is really, really nice, very challenging, beautiful views. The Crater - is interesting - it's like a big hot springs pool inside a cave. You go down a long cave-like hallway, then there's this BIG pool, that is deep and warm even in the dead of winter. Scuba students do check-out/cert dives here. (in fact I think winter would be a great time to visit the Homestead, XC skiing, winter sports, ice castles, etc) Simon's, the more formal restaurant that's open for dinner - is a very good restaurant! We were so pleased with our meals, and complimented the chef. It's a very family-oriented place. The pool is NOT quiet. But it is big, refreshing and beautiful! There are 2 indoor pools, also - hot springs-type. We enjoy going to the Homestead, and we only live an hour away. Lots of weddings take place here. Scenic surroundings.

Awesome place, lots to do

Awesome grounds, restaurants and quiet location. Great view of the valley from the top of the crater, nice old fashion style cottages. Every August our Mustang Club puts on an annual show and this is a great venue

Wasatch Gem

Spacious and comfortable room, with an especially good bed. Water aerobics 3x/week (included in resort fee). Great food and service in Fanny's. Stand-up Paddleboard Yoga and horseback riding were extra, but was AMAZING. The resort grounds were immaculate. Friendly, helpful staff. Multitude of golf and hiking options. Lots of fine dining options nearby. Close to both Sundance and Park City.

A Step Back in Time....

Staying a few days at the Homestead Resort was like stepping back in time to the 1950s and older. The decore in our room seemed to not have been updated or refreshed since then. The resort is located in a beautiful area of the Wasatch Mountain Range, minutes from several recreational opportunities. The grounds are beautifully manicured with plentiful flowers and greenery. It is like visiting a small quaint Swiss town high in the Alps. Check-in was smooth and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was a bit larger than a standard hotel room and was clean. The bathroom was tiny and the fan did not work so it turned into a sauna after a shower. The room's decor was like I remember from my grandparent's house decades ago. The beds were hard as a rock, but so was the floor. I chose the bed because I wouldn't be able to get off the floor. The swimming pool is huge and refreshing. There are two hot tubs, one standard chemically treated and the other is a natural hot spring. There is a very nice golf course just steps away. We took a stroll around the entire grounds and enjoyed the landscaping. Kudos to the grounds crew. Checkout was smooth with the same friendly staff. While the rooms and building were dated and old, we would stay there again.
