Needs a visit from Hotel Impossible

Unfortunately the staff is lacking experience in customer management. We choose this location because they allow dogs however the room we selected was not as advertised. For starters, there was no patio deck, we did not have a microwave, and the restaurant Simons which we were told was open 3 days prior to our stay was apparently never open. Following that experience room service never restocked or cleaned our room which is part of the fee you pay to even stay there. Sadly, this beautiful hotel seems un-managed and the staff doesn’t have the authority to do anything or they weren’t trained properly. You might be better off staying at the Zermott which is also outdated but the staff takes care of their guests.

Family vacation

I would recommend this place because of cleanliness and the homey country Homtoned decor. My grandchildren really enjoyed the comfortness and tranquility as did I. It really felt like home and family.

Best Anniversary stay

Homestead has and always will be my happy face. It brings so much peace and happiness to me. The staff is so friendly and the grounds are beautiful. Perfect for a romantic getaway or just a family staycation

Romantic Weekend Away

We drove up from SLC for a weekend getaway. We booked a Luxury Suite with the Crater package (review of crater separately). One of the reasons we booked Homestead was the reviews of the restaurants. Sadly, three days before our arrival, the ownership changed hands and instituted a complete menu change. Gone is the famous friend chicken and Fannie's. The room was nice. The whole property shows its age for sure. But the upkeep was good. Nothing scared us. We had a hottub and fireplace in our room. Plenty of parking as well. We would return. The property is fun. Of course, you have the crater. You can walk in and see it without paying anything. Deer are all over the place. And check out the Koi ponds behind the restaurant. We left with lots of yummy fudge made right on property.
