Excellent concierge service from Vanessa!

Vanessa helped me set up a surprise gift upon their arrival in our daughter & son-in-law's room. There were celebrating their first wedding anniversary. She was so kind & helpful, and they were so pleased with their gift!!

Disappointing Experience for a “First Class Resort”

Our family of 4 planned for a late spring skiing trip and at the recommendation of the Deer Valley concierge that helped me book over the phone, we chose the Lodges. We arrived and had a smooth check in on a Wednesday afternoon. That evening, we noticed that the drain in the master shower was not draining at all and was gurgling black and gray goop. The next morning, we let the front desk know. When we arrived back at the room that afternoon, there was a note indicating the drain had been fixed by maintenance. It indeed had, however once we tried to shower, we discovered that the floor of the shower was covered in whatever trash, goop and hair had been recovered from the clogged drain. Whilst they’d fixed the drainage problem, there had been no effort to clean up the mess. This was the second night of four in the suite that the shower in the master suite we’d paid for was not usable. The next morning, we alerted the front desk yet again, that housekeeping needed to clean the shower. I returned to the room mid-afternoon and happened to there when housekeeping came for the day. I told them to please make sure to clean the full bathroom and shower, as we had since noticed that the trash and disgusting goop from the drain was also all over the floor of the rest of the bathroom. Housekeeping was in the room for a total of 6 minutes. They did not clean the bathroom at all. By that afternoon, we had had enough of this. We let the front desk know once again we were extremely dissatisfied and would be leaving even. It was not the experience we had paid for. We asked that given our issues with our room, that they refund us the last night of our stay, despite the fact we had prepaid. The manager, Evan, agreed and promised to call the next day with details on when we would see this credit hit our account. It has now been more than 2 weeks, we’ve received no credit as promised and Evan continues to make empty promises that he is following up on this. Extraordinary disappointing for a resort that promises first class experience for all guests. Having skied at Deer Valley since we were children 20 years ago, we are done. Steamboat, Vail and Heavenly will get our money from now on. We won’t be back to Deer Valley.

Dear Catherine, Thank you for taking the time with me on the phone speaking about your recent experience at the Lodges. While I was pleased to hear from you that most aspects of your stay were excellent, I was very disappointed and embarrassed by the lapse in service you experienced in receiving an appropriate resolution to the clogged shower drain in your residence. This was especially disheartening because I consider expedient problem resolution to be a true fundamentals hospitality and that we missed the mark during your visit is big disappointment to the entire team. I am terribly sorry for that, and you may be assured our leadership team will underscore the importance of consistent and reliable service to keep such an experience from reoccurring in the future. Catherine, having been in this industry for many years I understand the impact our failures can have on our guests despite every effort we make to respond when such issues arise. And, while some issues can arise which are beyond our control, it is my sincere hope that service and responsiveness never be among them. I can honestly say that lapse in service you experienced at the Lodges is rare indeed. I can also say, that in my career, some of the most long-lasting and rewarding guest relationships have occurred from a service misstep after given the opportunity to regain trust and make good on our values. I kindly ask that when your travels bring you back to the Deer Valley in the future that you contact me directly. I would be delighted to oversee the details of your next visit to ensure your complete satisfaction and restore your every confidence. Thank you again for your very helpful and candid feedback. I look forward to welcoming you and your family back to the Lodges in the future and until then, remain at your service. Sincerely, Anthony Bartholomew General Manager The Lodges at Deer Valley

Still excellent! Best place at Deer Valley!

The Lodges at Deer Valley is a spectacular place to stay at, especially when skiing at Deer Valley. The Lodges are close to the bottom of the Deer Valley mountain, with an easy shuttle from the lodge (including stopping at the Silver Baron Lodge) to the ticket office at the base of the mountain. The restaurant at The Lodges (The Brass Tag) has a breakfast buffet, which is okay, with a satisfactory selection of eggs, pastries, and cheese. They also have a dinner service, which is good. They have a rental shop in the lobby (pick up skis/boots by 5pm) which is very convenient. So much better than picking up at the Deer Valley base. There are cookies (fresh from the oven -- very good cookies) and hot chocolate with marshmallows, along with water in the lobby, which is nice after a long day of skiing, or whatever you chose to do near the mountain/Deer Valley. Great staff here and overall another amazing experience at The Lodges at Deer Valley!

Check in mediocre, Good Accomodation, Restaurant, not so much

Alright, check in, we arrived early (1pm?) and I went for a ski my wife sat in lobby awaiting our room. Was not given wifi code or offered any refreshment. We had aussie phones and had phone data turned off. My wife was sitting directly in front of reception and when the room was ready they chose to send a text which we did not get as we were not connected to wifi. So she sat there for an extra hour and was only told the room was ready when she asked at reception. Not a good start, but the room was great. Restaurant (the Keg or something?) advertised après ski so yea great we thought couple of beers and a wine after i returned from skiing before dinner. Get there about 5 ish, place deserted which should have been a warning, everyone busy setting up for dinner, asked if we could have a drink, seemed a hinderance but were shown to table but told it was booked at 6 so would have to be out by then, no worries I thought we would move. Ordered a wine for my wife and asked what draft beer they had (I always drink local), wait person went off to find out Wine arrived and as she was walking off I asked about the beer and she had forgotten to ask the bartender! Turned out no draft so ordered a bottle, OK eventually had my beer, my wife a ordered a second glass of wine an asked for snack menu which, yep, did not appear (remember this part). We then moved tables and I asked for a second beer. Was told by barman quite rudely I thought that I could not have one as it was obvious we were just there to drink (very observant). I said we had asked for snack menu earlier but this was ignored and was snarled at that we could buy a bowl of peanuts and only then I could have a beer. Oh and the barman appeared to have black eye which I can probably understand. Anyway not knowing anywhere else we had dinner at the same place that night. Waiter was great (back to normal excellent American service?) but when restaurant manager whisked my hamburger round in front of me the garlic aioli sauce slid off my plate and splattered all over my wife. Very apologetic and gave us a free dessert but think the whole meal should have been free. Anyway we did not venture near the restaurant again for dinner but breakfast only which was self service and fine. Would we go back, no, we found the whole Deer Valley area pretty snobbish and for the prices charged and service, OMG, Whistler, Vale, France and Japan are so much better! Hotel did offer a bus great service to and from Park City so ate there all other nights and found some great restaurants.

Accommodations, Service, & Skiing

What a great place to stay for a small business group or a family. Proximity to the slopes is a quick shuttle ride. The condo’s are spacious, relaxing, and include at least one fireplace making them cozy as well. The kitchen is a good size for eating or entertaining. Service exceeds expectations, it’s also helpful you can grab your lift tickets at the front desk. Great stay!
