Great location to hop on free ski shuttle, but condo unit was dated, amenities less than desirable!

Location of this condo is great! Ski shuttle stop (Red bus #1) to Park City Mountain Resort is right by it, and shuttle runs through 3 times within each hour. We booked a 1-br condo unit with kitchen for 5-day, and it's one of the more affordable accommodation during end Dec peak season. It's a bonus that the building has a indoor Jacuzzi and a small outdoor heated pool. One thing we learned was that each of these units were owned by different owners. So I believe the conditions of the units vary from room to room. We had 106 and it was dated and clearly needed some TLC. Here are the things to call out: 1. When we checked in, 3 light bulbs had blew up and needed replacement. In 2 separate trips in 2 days, the maintenance guy did come to replace the 3 bulbs. 2. There's a flat screen TV but cable wasn't working. We were able to view 1 channel at one point but shortly after, none of the channels were working. Maintenance guy came by but couldn't resolve the issue. 3. Carpet in the unit was dirty and clearly needed deep cleaning or replacement. 4. There's only 1 washer/dryer in the common area for the entire building. Will have to wait for your turn. 5. Onsite parking was insufficient but they offered parking at near by location. Not a big issue. 6. Check in is at Silver King Hotel (1-mile) from this condo. Not a big deal, just need to be aware. We enjoyed the skiing experience, and overall the stay was acceptable. However, condition of each unit varies, it's hard to set the right expectation, and pretty much depends on your luck.

Look Elsewhere!

This place was a dump. There wasn't a part of the room that wasn't disgusting. I'm really not one to focus on slight issues. But this place is a trash heap of a place to stay. One issue I noticed just on entering the property is that the door to get into the hallway of the building did not lock. There seemed to be two different options to lock and allow a card access or a button code mechanism, but neither were used. Anyone that wanted to enter the property could. After walking into the room, I noticed that the interior door security latch was gone. Not sure what that was about, but there were plenty of old screw holes to show the history of latches. As soon as you walk in you wonder where the smell is coming from. The light switch inside the door didn't work so we had to find a lamp to turn on. The carpet looks like a scrap from somewhere that was going to be trashed but someone put it to use in this room. There were too many stains to count on the carpet. The chairs at the tables were stained in so many different shades I couldn't figure out what their original color might have been. Like mentioned in another review, the beds are hard as a rock. I'm all about a firm bed, but I imagine some jails have better bedding. Another thing we noticed when we walked into the room was how hot it was. Since the thermostat was only hooked up to the heater we had to turn it off and then plug in the small wall mounted A/C unit. I seen a picture of a room that was set up like ours, but the picture had those two units painted white. Our unit still had the original brown coloration from the 60's I'm guessing. When we tried to use the A/C it just blew what I could tell was recirculated air without cooling it. We had to open the window to get the room to cool down, I can just imagine what happens when it is the summertime. We tried this since we assumed that KSL travel wouldn't put dumps on their site as last minute deals, but I was wrong. The shower floor was so old that the porcelain floor was peeling away. The sink had cracks around the drain. It felt like everything in this room was 2nd hand stuff. I think about the only thing this place would be good for is a frat party, because I can't imagine doing anything more to this room that isn't already done, and not fixed.

Did not sleep at all on the rock-hard beds

The hallway smelled like urine, the room did not have a screen for the window and the air conditioning unit was 40 years old and loud as an airplane. The beds were the worst part: they were the most uncomfortable bed I have slept on in my life. Woke up every hour or so all night long.

Clean, functional and decent location

I actually booked this place without seeing any of the reviews on here as I needed a last minute place for a work trip to the Sundance film festival. My choices were limited (due to late booking), so didn't have any reasonably priced options. Having ready the reviews here I am somewhat surprised, as I didn't get anywhere near as dire an experience as some have had. Firstly, the place is located near a mini strip-mall with a number of decent eating options and is about a 20 minute walk to downtown Park City... I didn't do any skiing, so have no idea if its close to any of the slopes... but it was wonderfully located for my needs (getting to and from the multitude of screening halls for the festival. The room was a small studio-style apartment, with an open plan, but clearly defined areas for kitchen, lounge and bedroom. There was a small table, ideal for eating at and a separate en-suite bathroom. The place looked rather dated and twee... homestyle furnishings and linens that was more akin to staying in an Aunt's spare room... but considering it was -20 degrees outside and waist deep in snow, I found it rather charing and homely. There was even a hearth for a real fire (though no wood or coals were provided nor (more worryingly) any instructions on using it. That said, it wasn't needed, as the room was perfectly warm. The bathroom was equally dated and basic, but perfectly functional and clean. The only issue I have with the pace was that it was loaded with static energy... when getting into bed a blue glow would emanate from the bed coupled with the sound of a family of chirping crickets - it was producing so much static. I was quite disconcerting and, at times, shockingly painful. This aside, for a few days, I'd be content to stay here again.
