Outdated, but friendly staff

I think the staff is very friendly at Westgate. Everyone was very helpful! The rooms are very outdated. The furniture is so dark and takes up a lot of space, so you don't have a lot of room to move around....no extra space. The rooms are dark - need better lighting. The fans...the fans when not on...you could tell they had not been cleaned in months. It is pretty difficult to get around the facility. It's like a maze. The workout room is very nice.

Nice Resort in the Canyons

We have come to Westgate Park City every 2 years since 2003, as we are a timeshare owner there. We have a 2BR, 2 Bath unit. We stayed in the Elk Lodge, 9th floor, in an odd numbered room. This is the best location in all of the Westgate Resort. The Edge Restaurant, Spa, Exercise Room, Kids Care, and Game Room are all in the Elk Lodge. Also, there is a spectacular view of the valley from the 9th floor in an odd numbered room. If you get an even numbered room your view is of the condominiums across from your balcony. The biggest problem we had during our stay was our room key cards quit working every 2 or 3 days and we would have to go to the lobby to get them replaced. The beds were somewhat uncomfortable (sagging toward the middle of the bed) as I suspect the mattresses needed to be turned, or were quite old, or both. The front desk clerk forgot to give us our parking permits for the parking garage and the security guard at the entrance to the parking garage almost didn't let us in one night. So make sure you get your parking permits when you check in. The furniture is starting to show its age, but overall it was a pleasant week.

Good place to stay in the canyons

This is my review after staying there a few times over the last few years. The staff is friendlier now than sometimes in the past. Room service is daily if you want. Not all resorts I have stayed at have daily service. The Serenity pool was closed for upgrade. The rooms are nice but don't seem to have changed much. We enjoy using the tennis court. We sign up for court time and they have rackets to borrow. The layout is a little confusing to get from place to place. to get to our room from the lobby we had to go up two floors, walk to another elevator, to up to the fourth floor, walk down the hall to another elevator then go up the The ninth floor to our room. Overall it is a nice place to stay and will probably stay there again.

Very Average - Maybe a bit below average.

They bill themselves as a high end resort, I found it less than a great stay. We decided to have lunch upon check in, to get to the bar, you took an elevator to the second floor. Walked down a hallway and took another elevator to the 4th floor, walked down another hallway and a third elevator to the 7th floor I believe was where the bar was. so odd. walls were paper thin, had to call security both nights about the kids in the room next door. They have some work to do

Gave It A Second Chance - Regretted It

I’ve visited and reviewed Westgate Park City before and DID NOT enjoy my experience. It’s been a couple of years so I thought we’d give it another chance. I won’t make that mistake again. From the moment you pull up, your unpleasant experience begins. Construction all around forces you to reroute to even get to the main door. Valet service avoids you, hoping you don’t make eye contact. The front desk person was cold and slow to get us checked in. We came in June and the place was empty. We opted for their Signature Villa and I requested that we get one with a view of the mountains behind, or the valley below. I was told that they would not be able to give me a room with a view. So we got to enjoy looking out our window at the construction happening on the building next door. Again, the resort was empty so this irked us. Last time we visited, all 3 pools were closed for construction. I don’t have kids so a pool is key! About 2 weeks before our check in date, we called and the hotel confirmed that all 3 pools were open. Upon check-in, we were advised that only one pool would be open during our stay. When we told them that we had specifically called to confirm the pools were open, we were told “I don’t know why someone told you that”. The rooms and hallways are dirty and small. For the price per night, it’s nowhere near worth staying here. Stay away! Hope my experiences will help someone else avoid the same waste of money.
